Classes & Schedule
Weekly classes at Shangrila Yoga.
Strengthen the Body, Calm the Mind
After a brief opening meditation and light dynamic movement, Karin leads a Sun Salutation-based flow that blends classic poses with contemporary variations.
Each class maintains a particular focus, such as an area of the body or a specific technique, that is emphasized throughout the flow. The practice closes with an extended period of breathwork, followed by a restful Savasana that brings awareness to the body and breath.
Yoga for Stress & Anxiety
This class weaves together gentle yoga forms and mindfulness-based practice to support nervous system settling while practising together in community.
The practice varies depending on the season of the year and the needs of the group. Every body is welcome. There are no physical assists, and variations are offered and encouraged. Your body, your practice. Beginners are welcome.

Meditation with Movement & Breath
This class follows the rhythm of its name: first meditation, then movement, then breathwork.
After an opening meditation centred on the body and breath, Karin introduces a focus for the class, such as a movement family, technique, or area of the body. She then guides an easeful practice combining mobility, stretching, strength, and flow. Simple, calming breathwork follows before a restorative Savasana.
Beginner’s Yoga
A class designed to help you relax, release tension and stress from the body, and quiet and soothe the mind through a balanced practice of poses, breathwork, relaxation, and meditation.
The class is open to all levels, with special care given to beginners. Kathy encourages the use of props and modifications to create greater safety and comfort for students working with pain, discomfort, or ongoing conditions.
Vinyasa Flow & Breath
Andrea offers a flowing, breath-led class that combines movement, stretching, and mindful presence.
The practice is designed to help students move with awareness and connect movement to breath. All levels are welcome. A fuller class description will be added when available.
Taoist Yoga
Taoist Yoga is a gentle, meditative practice that blends slow movement, breathwork, and energy awareness to help you feel balanced, grounded, and connected to nature.
Based on ancient Taoist principles such as Yin and Yang, the practice focuses on harmonizing the body, mind, and spirit through inner stillness and flow.
Rise & Restore Karma Class
A calming, slow-paced class that blends gentle movement with restorative postures.
You’ll begin reclined with breathwork and light stretches, then flow through seated and tabletop poses before moving into a few simple standing shapes. Class ends with longer holds and a restful Savasana. Perfect for all levels—especially those looking to unwind, de-stress, and move mindfully.
Flow and Breathe
Valerie’s classes are geared to all levels, whether you are a beginner or have practised yoga for a lifetime. She offers options and modifications to suit individual needs.
Her teaching is Anusara and Vinyasa inspired and reflects her belief that yoga can be pivotal in the healing process. The class invites students to play, laugh, heal, love, transform, and enjoy the pure joy of practice.
90 Minutes of Bliss
Michel teaches a vigorous, physical style of Hatha Yoga focused on the principles of the mind and body.
He has a strong knowledge of body mechanics and an intuitive understanding of how the body relates to the postures. While he enjoys challenging his students, he helps each person work at their own level while supporting healing and resilience.
